BigSisPat's Journal
Hi all,
Have been busy with my new job and my new home.
Cleaning units, doing laundry renting units, moving folks in. whew!
Then I'm trying (in my spare time, lol) to do the newsletter, and putting my house in order.
The other day Sharon came to take me to Chemaius, another town, 10 minutes from here to het some bloodwork done.
I'be been fasting for 12 hours and no coffee yet!, when a tenant tells me his toilet is backed up!
I put a call the plumber, who has an answeirng service, leave my number and wait for a call back. Fortunately it wasn't long, when he returned my call, and said he'd have someone there in half an hour!
So, we wait, and wait, and wait some more! Finally I talk to my neighbour (tenant) and ask him to wait for plumber for me, as I really have to leave. He agrees and we are on our way.
The blood work took about 5 minutes, and we were off to find me some coffee. we had back to Crofton, check with the neighbour, who informas me the plumber has been and gone, and everything is fine. Yay!
We went to a local hot spot called Lito's Cafe where we had a sandwich called a "Lito Bob" (have to fin out the history behind that). Absolutely delicious sandwich made with egg, bacon, cheese, lettuce mayonaise on a delicious bun (have to find that out too).
My coffee craving satisfied, and a full belly, off we went (with Max of course), to Sharon's friend, Sharon (odd name eh?) to puppy sit. Actuallly it was to feed the puppies. It seems mastiffs don't make good mom's, so they need help nursing.
Considering how huge they eventually become, these puppies are so tiny and so cute!
Max had a great time at Sharon two's house. She has a whole managerie of dogs, although we only encountered 3 thank goodness.
From there we went to (our) Sharon's house (where there are two more mastiffs) I'm sure Max is thinking is this punishement or what?
Finally it was time to head home. It's nice to get away but I love coming home to Crofton with the wonderful sea breezes, that I haven't encountered anywhere else.
Til next time...

One Man's Kingdom?
At one time in history, men of wealth or power (or possibly vision), were keen to make their mark upon the world to leave something behind them to remind the world who they were!
One such man came to a small valley in Wales, where minerals could be dug from the earth, and sold for profit elsewhere; and land could be bought quite cheaply upon which to build a home and his industries. Labourers could be recruited locally; building materials quarried from his land; and a local river harnessed to power his machines.
So this man bought land and employed people to dig stone from it to build a home for him, he opened a mine, and a quarry and employed more people to work in them. He established a mill at the side of his river and employed more folk to work there too. His mine and quarries were high on the mountainside; so the man devised and had built a system by which the coal and minerals could be brought down to his valley, from where they could more easily be transported. He decided that his workers should live nearer to his works and his mill, so decided that he would have built for them cottages - which he would rent to them. Now the man needed a shop, from which his workers could buy food, clothing and furniture, and an Inn, from which his workers could buy ale or spirits. Soon this man had his own little kingdom - in his own little valley.
You can see this man's kingdom in the picture above; his home is the large white building on the left, his mill is the large building on the right. The terrace of cottages the man built for his workers is partly obscured, but can be seen to the right of his home; while the Inn and shop that he built are close to, and on the left of his mill in the picture.
A quarry for building stone can be seen on the hillside above his home; but where, you ask are his mine and quarries? Well, those are behind me, where I stand, on the hill, admiring this man's kingdom!
Eventually, our man noticed that profits from the sale of his coal and minerals and the products of his mill were decreasing; so unfortunately he couldn't offer his workers an increase of pay; but, as they lived in his cottages, and bought food from his shop and ale from his inn, they didn't actually need money! He would give them instead tokens, which they could redeem for food and goods - anywhere within his kingdom; and in this way, our man could regain some of this lost money!!
However, each year, profits seemed to decline; while the cost of maintaining the cottages and of buying and transporting food and ale seemed to rise - so he was forced, unfortunately, to charge more tokens as rent and for the food that he sold. Would you believe it - his workers eventually started to leave his kingdom; they claimed that they were starving, that their children were ill from lack of nourishment - they were even prepared to take their indebtedness to him with them!!
After a few more years this man found that he could no longer get people to take employment with him, his mine and quarry closed for lack of men to work them. His mill lasted a while longer, but eventually suffered the same fate. His family grew up and moved away - eager to make their own mark upon the world and his kingdom gradually dwindled away.
What mark you ask did this man leave upon his world?
Well his fine home now provides shelter for elderly and infirm people who would struggle to look after themselves; though it no longer bears his name.
The workers cottages that he had built; were renovated and modernized (saved from ruin really), and each was sold for many times the annual profit of the man's kingdom.
His inn and shop were demolished when the building became unsafe.
His mill, now no-longer powered by a water-wheel, is currently being used by a company who manufacture plastic pellets.
Of his mine little remains - indeed only the smoke stack for boilers that once existed to make steam for winding engines.
This mine has been lost for so long now that few even remember its name; though many can tell of the hardship that workers there endured. Limbs and lives this mine claimed in its day; when a tired miner grew careless at the end of a long shift, or when cost cutting left insufficient shoring in an area still worked.
Pictured above are the man's quarry, and the spoil heaps from his mine. Below are pictures which show all that is left of his devices for moving coal and minerals down into his valley.
Nature has now reclaimed much of this man's kingdom, as you can see.
Frogs and small fish live in the pool where his mine once stood; wild birds nest in the quarry where minerals once were extracted; trees, grass and shrubs grow in abundance over all of his works.
The owner? His name is remembered, though usually spoken with distaste, or contempt!

Jan's Ramblings
I was lying in bed this morning, listening to the radio, and thinking to myself, what will I send for "Australian Report", when they mentioned this book. It is about a chap, born in the Depression and how he makes his way in life. It sounds like a good read, and I will look out for it at the library.
Goldie - Adventures in a Vanishing Australia
Bill 'Swampy' Marsh and Jack "Goldie" Goldsmith
Description
Born during the worst year of the Depression, he escaped an abusive stepmother and headed out to western New South Wales. Times were tough for a teenager so for the next few years he tramped from place to place, trapping rabbits, picking spuds, working on the railways and building fences: anything for a little money and a bit of tucker. After a brief stint in the army during the Korean War he followed his real dream, to work on the big cattle runs in Queensland's Gulf Country. There he made a living from working in the stock camps, horse breaking, droving and cattle duffing. He also made history by becoming only the third person to successfully swim the crocodile-infested river at Normanton.
'Goldie' has now told his story to Bill 'Swampy' Marsh, one of Australia's best-loved storytellers. It's a rip-roaring yarn, full of adventure, misadventure, narrow escapes and drama. Often surprising, at times funny, sad and even painful, Goldie draws us deep into an Australia we should cherish before it is gone forever.

Today I bought a craft magazine and read about using photos that I have taken myself and have on my computer to make a wall hanging, quilt or picture, using printable fabric sheets.
Has anyone tried this, I had not heard of it before.
I found these on the site Australian Country Quilts
[Editor's note, click on the above link, then click on Gallery]
I think it would be awesome to make a wall hanging, or other project, with family, pet or travel photos, and would love to try it.
Please tell us about your project, and if it is easy or difficult.
Be sure to check out all the wonderful craft ideas in the WWWCOF Craft Site and let us get this group active and crafting. Any ideas, please send them to Aussie Jan .

Morning Folks:
I want to share with you something that has come into my possession
yesterday, that could have resulted in Disaster, Financial Ruin and
loss of job.
About 1 month ago I inquired about becoming a Mystery Shopper. I have
done these for a long time and yet never gotten anywhere. Well, this
time I got a response. The ball started rolling. Recieved several
letters from the man in charge of this particular Mystery shopper
posisition. Oh he was slick. Insisting how legitamite it was and how
you can make really good money with this company.
He knew just the right words, ( or so he thought) I was hopeful. As so
many are when they would like or need the extra money badly enough.
His first words to me that had me skeptical was, "Tell NO ONE" but I
kept playing along. ( I have to admit I was curious, and I hoped
beyond hope it was going to be real.
Well, I recieved from UPS a envelope with 4 money orders totally
$999.00 each.
Now, I am to take this money and deposit it in my bank, after which
taking the money back out then take the money to my local grocery
store, spend up to $200 in groceries which I may keep. Then out of a
total of $600. Is the balance of my pay for investigating the store
and sending information as to their customer service cleanliness etc.
Then I am to take the balance of the money and go to their Western
Union station, Send on to another person designated after....... you
heard me.. After I cashed these money orders. they will tell you where
to send next...
You all know me well enough by now, I cannot keep something like this
to myself. and in running it by couple friends who were even more
skeptical than I I was sent the following information about Mystery
Shopper scams... Pleas ebe sure and read them. Quite interesting
indeed.
Needless to say, I still have the M.O.'s and will turn in to the
proper authorities as soon as i know who that should be. NO!!!!!! I
will not cash them. For am sure they are forgeries.
I wrote the this guy this morning after recieving his letter stating I
should have recieved them in mail and to take immediately to my Bank
and cash... Asked him how stupid he thought I was? I will not
send him my hard earned money in lieu of his bogus MO's and that I
fully intend to turn all this information , the mo's and addresses to
the proper authorities. Am awaiting a response to that one... I also included: "Shame on you for trying to scam innocent unsespcting
people , God will make you pay one day...So now I await a reply... and in the meantime, find out who
to turn this all into. Anyone out there have any suggestions? The FBI?
The Local Police,? Since these are Walmart Money Grams I do intend to
go to my local Store and let them know what is going on as well.
I as one little person am trying to make a difference ....... to help
others from being scammed in the future...So, I started right here with all my close friends...... Remember :WE
GET NOTHING FOR NOTHING...How dare someone play on me like
this...Oh trust me that $4,000. sure looked awfully good!!!!!
But not good enough when the end comes...
So read the attachments I sent and BEWARE PLEASE...
YOUR FRIEND ALWAYS,

A Retriever With a Heart of Gold
Caitee, a 7-year-old golden retriever, has always had a big personality and boundless energy. In her younger years, she showed her intelligence in obedience and agility competitions, winning blue ribbon after blue ribbon. And as an American Humane animal-assisted therapy dog, she now uses many of the same skills to win hearts.
Caitee's knack for sensing emotions and providing immediate, unconditional acceptance has been proven time and again. She once refused to leave an especially distraught hospital patient's side, stopping the woman's tears when nurses and others had failed to calm her.
More recently, Caitee has been helping victims of crime. In one instance, a 4-year-old girl staying in a domestic violence shelter had endured such severe trauma she refused to speak for four days -- until Caitee arrived! Another time, two teenagers involved in a criminal investigation were struggling to respond to questions about the ordeal they'd been through, but found it much easier once Caitee joined them and they could direct their answers to her.
While Caitee's role is clearly smaller than that of a therapist or a police investigator, the calming power of her presence has a significant impact. Sometimes in the aftermath of traumatic events, victims of crime reach a comfort level with Caitee that they have trouble finding among other people.
Support a New Kind of 'Police Dog'
Working alongside her handler, Carolyn Corbett, Caitee is in her element. She barks excitedly whenever Carolyn prepares for weekly therapy visits, seemingly telling her partner to "hurry up." The team volunteers at a domestic violence safe house and with the police department in Westminster, Colo., through a new program Carolyn developed that uses animal-assisted therapy to help ease victims' suffering.
As a registered therapy dog, Caitee senses victims' feelings and responds with affection when they pet, brush or speak to her. Carolyn is an experienced volunteer victim advocate who has completed 40 hours of advocacy training on her own through the police department as well as American Humane's animal-therapy training program with Caitee. Together, they are an amazing team on a mission to help victims get through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
If you've ever seen the positive impact an animal can have on someone who is in emotional pain, you will understand the importance of supporting Caitee and Carolyn as well as the other remarkable teams in American Humane's animal-assisted therapy program
The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of
his tongue.

NOTE FROM OUR PROPOSED REUNION HOSTESS
With two months to go before
Reunion 2008, Sharon has made positive moves to be here. Who else is going to be brave enough to come?? Those of us in the host country, are still waiting to know how many have confirmed their flight, especially if we want to take full advantage of group bookings and possible discounts once here.
Apart from that, there has been a curious lack of support about Reunion 2008 in Argentina, as much in those interested in coming as in help in any way.
If it wasn't for last minute nothing would ever get done!!! Please let us know real soon
Who are we going to add to this group for reunion 2008 ?
The inscription form to take part in this unforgettable event can be found here: Inscription Form Look forward to getting lots of them!!
Our planet awareness site,
Planet Kryzys has many interesting stories of different aspects of a planet under Crisis. Among them some brand new ones from our new correspondent in Perth Australia, Robyn, who has sent in stories about Australian animals like the Koala and kangaroo, as well as a national Park and the adventures of moving a huge tree hundreds of years old. Do please take a moment to visit it, and maybe it will remind you that YOUR area has something interesting to offer the rest of the world.
We have started a NEW SECTION in the Planet Awareness site, all about Regional, State, Provincial or National Parks. So a challenge is set to tell us about the one/those in visiting distance from you.
A new Nature Photo contest has started and as fitting with our Planet awareness site, it is of course nature based, and the theme this time is Nature's SKY. You have plenty of time to watch out for those sunsets, cloud formations, rainbows, storms, night skies etc etc
Photos sent in just have to be members' own or members 'family and friends. Look forward to seeing what you all come up with.
The Circle's Computer help site has had some new articles added recently sent in by Pat.
Alphalist There are an incredible number of useful articles there to help you get the best from your computer or put things right that aren't working too well. Perhaps you also know of some trick we could all use, so send it in and get it added.
For example, Who knew??
Magnifying print. THIS IS FOR all you old farts that can't use your glasses when you're on the computer.
Am I the only one that didn't know about this?????
It's very useful when trying to read small print (email, internet or word processor, etc.)
If you hold down the Ctrl key on your key board and then turn the small wheel in the middle of your mouse away from you or towards you, the print size will change - it will either get larger or smaller - depending on which way you turn the wheel.
Try it.
I got that from Vicki

This week I have chosen a Mexican dish;
Shrimp Enchiladas
WWWCOF Mexican COOKBOOK
Yield: 4 Servings
1/2 Cup Oil
8 Corn Tortillas-6 Inch
1/3 Cup Onions-Finely Chopped
2 Garlic Cloves-Minced
2 1/2 Cup Red Enchilada Sauce-(19oz)
2 Tbl Chipotle Sauce
1 Lb Cooked, Shelled Shrimp
1 Cup Cojita Or Feta Cheese, crumbled
Chopped Cilantro
Heat oven to 350 deg F. Heat oil in a large skillet to 350 deg. Dip each tortilla in hot oil for 4-6 seconds to soften. Drain on paper towels. Discard all but 1 tablespoon oil. Add onions and garlic to skillet. Cook over medium high heat till tender. About 3 minutes. Add enchilada and chipotle sauce. Simmer 5 minutes. Combine shrimp and 1 cup sauce in a medium bowl. Spoon 1/3 cup shrimp mixture into each tortilla. Roll tortilla and place seam side down in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Pour remaining sauce over filled enchiladas. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake 350 deg for 10-15 minutes until thoroughly heated. Sprinkle with cilantro.
For dessert, how about
BAKED ALASKA. I remember making this in school, but then I lost the recipe, I got it in my email box just the other day.
Making a baked Alaska is easy. A baked Alaska is a wonderful summertime concoction with a cake base, ice cream center and a coating of soft meringue. Here's how to make one:
Step 1: Make a cake. It needs to be a single-layer sheet cake. You can even use a box mix. Let it cool and cut it into a rectangle.
Step 2: Whip the meringue. You'll need five to eight eggs depending on how big your baked Alaska is going to be. Add two tablespoons of sugar for each egg white and a bit of cream of tartar.
Step 3: Add the ice cream. Peel the carton away from a brick of ice cream and cut it into blocks. It needs to be rock hard. Stack the ice cream on the cake.
Step 4: Cover it with meringue. Use a spatula and spread meringue over the entire dessert.
Step 5: Bake it. It only takes a few minutes at 500 degrees to create a golden shell.
That's all there is to it.
You can use any cake and any ice cream you choose.
And
here is an actual recipe. Enjoy!
Does anyone have a recipe of something produced from their corner of the globe?? We would love to add it to our unique cookbook!
The extensive kitchen help section has also grown! And there are tips and hints on just about everything from Alcohols in cooking to "Why didn"t I think of that" type tips:
Cookery Tips Again if you have anything you would like added, or if you want info on anything that isn"t there, just let us know.
TIME SAVING COOKING TIPS - Sharon
Freeze left-over coffee in cubes. When you want a cup of coffee, heat a few cubes in a cup in the microwave. Especially like to do this with flavored coffees.
To chop onions the easy way, start by cutting off the stem end, then peel the skin back to the root, KEEPING THE SKIN ATTACHED. Holding the skin to steady the onion, cut in half nearly to the root end, then at right angles to the first cut, 3 or 4 more cuts nearly to the root end. Next, still holding the root end by the skin, slice finely across the onion from the stem end, the result will be nicely chopped onion. And it takes longer to explain than to do it!
Keep a dry mix of 1 part cornstarch and 2 parts flour in a container to use for making gravy. Just scoop out amount needed and mix with cold water. Also make gravy in the microwave, boil off drippings from the pan and put it in a 2 cup or 4 cup measure and make in microwave stirring several times.
When cooking ground beef for Tacos or other Mexican dishes, cover the meat with water in a saucepan, break up with a fork, or potato masher, season well with beef and chicken boullion, and garlic powder, when cooked, drain off fat and water and you've got tasty meat without all of the fat. (You won't miss the good taste of the browned meat, promise.) Add a can of fat free refried beans and use just a little of the water from the meat to moisten, then our Mexican Dishes are bean and beef ready. Enjoy!
Rub a cut white potato over your hands to rid your hands of onion odor.
Freeze ground meat in 1 pound portions and place into freezer storage bags. Flatten out to the edges of the bag and remove all the air before zipping and sealing, then freezing. These flat bags of ground meats stack neatly laid flat or standing on edge in the freezer. If you want a smaller amount it's easy just to break it off then reseal the bag. The meats also thaw quicker when stored this way.
BUY CHEAP PLASTIC WRAP AND COVER YOUR COUNTER WHILE COOKING WITH MESSY STUFF.AFTER YOU ARE DONE PEAL IT OFF WITH THE MESS.
Use your pizza cutter to cut bar cookies. It does a nice job.
Use a sandwich bag when buttering a dish or making rice crispy treats and the mess won't stick on your hands!
If you read this page write to me anyway.

Can Cold Water Clean Dishes?
This is for all the germ conscious folks that worry about using cold water to clean.
John went to visit his 90-year-old grandfather in a very secluded, rural area of West Virginia .
After spending a great evening chatting the night away, Johns grandfather prepared breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast.
However, John noticed a film like substance on his plate, and questioned his grandfather asking, 'Are these plates clean?'
His grandfather replied, 'They're as clean as cold water can get 'em. Just you go ahead and finish your meal, Sonny!'
For lunch the old man made hamburgers. Again, John was concerned about the plates as his appeared to have tiny specks around the edge that looked like dried egg and asked, 'Are you sure these plates are clean?'
Without looking up the old man said, 'I told you before, Sonny, those dishes are as clean as cold water can get them. Now don't you fret, I don't want to hear another word about it!'
Later that afternoon, John was on his way to a nearby town and as he was leaving, his grandfather's dog started to growl, and wouldn't let him pass.
John yelled and said, 'Grandfather, your dog won't let me get to my car'.
Without diverting his attention from the football game he was watching on TV, the old man shouted, 'COLDWATER, GO LAY DOWN NOW, YAH HERE ME!!!'

Meaning
The whole thing; not concealing the less attractive parts.
Origin
This phrase is said to derive from Oliver Cromwell's instructions to the painter Sir Peter Lely, when commissioning a portrait.
At the time of the alleged instruction, Cromwell was Lord Protector of England. Lely had been portrait artist to Charles I and, following the restoration of the monarchy in 1660, he was appointed as Charles II's Principal Painter in Ordinary.
Lely's painting style was, as was usual at the time, intended to flatter the sitter. Royalty in particular expected portraits to show them in the best possible light, if not to be outright fanciful. Lely's painting of Charles II shows what was expected of a painting of a head of state in the 17th century. It emphasizes the shapely royal calves - a prized fashion feature at that time.
Cromwell did have a preference for being portrayed as a gentleman of military bearing, but was well-known as being opposed to all forms of personal vanity. This 'puritan Roundhead' versus 'dashing Cavalier' shorthand is often used to denote the differences in style of the two opposing camps in the English Commonwealth and subsequent Restoration. It is entirely plausible that he would have issued a 'warts and all' instruction when being painted and it is unlikely that Lely would have modified his style and produced the 'warts and all' portrait of Cromwell unless someone told him to.
We have Cromwell's death mask as a reference. From that it is clear that Lely's portrait is an accurate record of Cromwell's actual appearance.
Despite the plausibility of the account, there doesn't appear to be any convincing evidence that Cromwell ever used the phrase 'warts and all'. The first record of a version of that phrase being attributed to him comes from Horace Walpole's Anecdotes of Painting in England, 1764. Walpole's authority for the attribution came from a reported conversation between John Sheffield, Duke of Buckingham, the first occupant of Buckingham House, now Buckingham Palace, and the house's architect, Captain William Winde. Winde claimed that:
Oliver certainly sat to him, and while sitting, said to him - "Mr Lely, I desire you would use all your skill to paint my picture truly like me, and not flatter me at all; but remark all these roughnesses, pimples, warts and everything as you see me, otherwise I will never pay a farthing for it."
That was published in 1764 - over a hundred years after Lely painted Cromwell. Walpole included no evidence to support the attribution, nor any explanation of why no one else had mentioned the phrase in the preceding hundred years - this despite Cromwell's life being the subject of minutely detailed historical research and over 160 full-length biographies. We can only assume he was indulging in a piece of literary speculation rather than historical documentation. The first known citation in print of the actual phrase 'warts and all' is from a 'Chinese whisper' retelling of Walpole's story - an address given by an Alpheus Cary, in Massachusetts, in 1824:
When Cromwell sat for his portrait he said, "Paint me as I am, warts and all!"
It may well be the case that Oliver Cromwell preferred portraits of him to be accurate, but it is most unlikely that he ever uttered the words 'warts and all'.

RED SHIRT
If the red shirt thing is new to you, read below how it went for a man...
Last week, while traveling to Toronto on business, I noticed an army sergeant traveling with a folded flag, but did not put two and two together. After we boarded our flight, I turned to the sergeant, who'd been invited to sit in First Class (across from me), and inquired if he was heading home.
'No', he responded.
'Heading out', I asked?
'No. I'm escorting a soldier home.'
'Going to pick him up?'
'No. He is with me right now. He was killed in Afghanistan; I'm taking him home to his family.'
The realization of what he had been asked to do hit me like a punch to the gut. It was an honour for him. He told me that, although he didn't know the soldier, he had delivered the news of his passing to the soldier's family and felt as if he knew them after many conversations in so few days.
I turned back to him, extended my hand, and said, 'Thank you. Thank you for doing what you do so my family and I can do what we do.'
Upon landing in Toronto, the pilot stopped short of the gate and made the following announcement over the intercom.
'Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to note that we have had the honour of having Sergeant Steeley of the Canadian Armed Forces join us on this flight. He is escorting a fallen comrade back home to his family. I ask that you please remain in your seats when we open the forward door to allow Sergeant Steeley to deplane and receive his fellow soldier. We will then turn off the seat belt sign.'
Without a sound, all went as requested. I noticed the sergeant saluting the casket as it was brought off the plane, and his action made me realize that I am proud to be a Canadian.
So here's a public Thank You to our military Men and Women for what you do so we can live the way we do.
Red Fridays.
Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Canadians who support our troops used to be called the 'silent majority.' We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or overbearing.
Many Canadians, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of Canadians supports our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that every red-blooded Canadian who supports our men and women afar, will wear something red.
By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make Canada on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming Hockey game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family, it will not be long before the Canada is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once 'silent' majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the media lets on.
The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things better for you?' is 'We need your support and your prayers.' Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example, and wear something red every Friday.

Pray for Others
The best gift anyone can give to another is to pray for him or her. We live in a sinful world where bad things happen to people and people are tempted to sin. Praying for another person not only helps that person find God in the midst of trouble, but also helps us recognize the blessings that God gives us daily!
1 Timothy 2:1,2 says to offer prayer, supplication, intercession, and giving of thanks on behalf of all men. Yet we sometimes neglect to pray for others because we concentrate so much on our own interests.
How often do we think to pray for others, whether or not they request our prayers? Bible prayers are filled with requests and thanksgiving for people other than the one offering the prayer.
