Kendra, her friend Andrew and I attended the Mount Benson Ward Corn Roast and Pot Luck Dinner on Saturday September 10th and we quadrupled the following recipe to take along with us. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it ... I know we did. It is destined to be a family favourite and something we will make often. This is good warm but even better I think cold ... great for picnics and any other large family and friend gatherings.

- We are still waiting to here if Darryl has even got an interview yet. The one job was up on the 7th, so they could contact everyone soon, casue it takes companies at least a week or more sometimes, just to make a desicion on who they want to contact, the only thing is they did extend the time from the 2nd to the 7th for applicants to apply, that can only mean (I think anyways) that they didn't have enough people applying in the first instance, I dont know wether its a good or bad thing they extended it, but we will have to wait and see, the other job is up on the 20th of this month, so fingers crossed we will hear something. As for the online shop, i just need orders now, been trying to get it submitted to as many search engines as I can, but it can take weeks before they are on there, so hopefully it will start to take off, I have loads more to add yet as well, lol. love ya Brit Pat from Jolly Old England
- I just got my computer back from the shop last night. Have lost most of my stuff. Take care.
Hugs, Billie from Byhalia, MS, USA
- A. Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.
- B· Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
- C· Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.
- D· Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their maker.
- E· If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
- F· It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
- G· Never buy a car you can't push.
- H· Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.
- I· Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.
- J· We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.
- K· A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Planet Kryzys is updated in Natural disasters.
And the following couple of items are new in the Ethnic Groups page, and could well be affecting similar communities all over the world. Unfortunately, I haven't yet had any luck finding more info in English on the groups mentioned here.
Wichi Community of Salta, North Argentina.
The Founding Stone of the Argentine Nation was laid by the Spanish Conquisters, but before the arrival of Europeans, what today is a country was inhabited by the aborigenes who sustain their ownership rights on the legend that “The land belongs to those who have worked it.”
All the same, Argentina suffers and watches in silence how the minority aborigines group’s human rights are violated, and how they could be considered “internal refugees”, on not being able to cross , much less exploit – for their own survival – the lands that belonged to them long before the arrival of the Spanish Conquisters. The nation is also voiceless before official maniobras that could cause an ecological disaster.
In Salta province, the slow genocide of the aborigene tribes is being carried out. This matter has a lot to do with the sale of land on behalf of the provincial govenor, which had been declared “Protected Natural Reserves”, due to the richness and extent of the forest. There is a great variety of plant and animal species, as well as a small portion of the Wichi Community, who had previously been moved from another area, with the promise of work, but who had in fact been abandoned. They depend on the forest for their livelyhood
But the woods are already suffering irreparable damage, especially if we understand that just one willow tree, gives back 500 liters a day to the atmosphere. The land is being sold for the cultivation of soy beans, under the arguement that the area needs to be developed and create jobs, when everyone knows that soy plantations only need one laborer every 500 hectars, without even mentioning that soy bean leaves the land completely exhausted, as well as the resulting ecological disaster of cutting down the forest.
One of the worst consequences of cutting down the forest, is directly associated with climate change. Ecologists claim that temperatures could reach 70ºC, where they have already been reported as reaching 50ºC. This is beside the fact that the aborigenes are treated indignantly, they have been uprooted several times, and are not not allowed to enter the land which means their wellbeing. It is notable the growing difference between the havegots and the don’t haves, and how poverty has grown in the area.
Article taken and translated from “ La Capital” newspaper of 12th September 2005Warning from the Mapuche Community
The Rural Mapuche Front has warned that the mega touristic and hydroelectricity projects that are being carried out in the Patagonia region of South Argentina, are affecting the population of the region and may produce the uprooting of hundreds of families. Complete communities to the west of the southern Argentine province of Chubut, who have no electricy or transport, find themselves from one day to the next, overrun by these mega projects which also include mining and deforesting by national and international companies.
Their leader is making a fiery defense to the cultural and spiritual way of life aborigenes and creolles, agricultures, shepards, producers of fine fruits, who cannot face up to such giant corporations of German or US origen, who build mansions, fence everything off, and so the population cannot have access to the firewood or the land they have used for centuries to produce.
Article taken and translated from “ La Capital” newspaper of 12th September 2005A “joke” sent to me by Vicki, sums all this up:
The Navajo - When NASA was preparing for the Apollo Project, it took the astronauts to a Navajo reservation in Arizona for training.
One day, a Navajo elder and his son came across the space crew walking among the rocks. The elder, who spoke only Navajo, asked a question. His son translated for the NASA people: "What are these guys in the big suits doing?" One of the astronauts said that they were practicing for a trip to the moon. When his son relayed this comment the Navajo elder got all excited and asked if it would be possible to give to the astronauts a message to deliver to the moon.
Recognizing a promotional opportunity when he saw one, a NASA official accompanying the astronauts said, "Why certainly!" and told an underling to get a tape recorder. The Navajo elder's comments into the microphone were brief.
The NASA official asked the son if he would translate what his father had said. The son listened to the recording and laughed uproariously. But he refused to translate. So the NASA people took the tape to a nearby Navajo village and played it for other members of the tribe. They too laughed long and loudly but also refused to translate the elder's message to the moon.
Finally, an official government translator was summoned.
After he finally stopped laughing the translator relayed the message:
"Watch out for these assholes. They have come to steal your land."

I hope you have enjoyed this week's issue which I would like to close with the following which I received from Bigsis Pat from Ontario, Canada

Take four exuberant young women, pour in an overflowing abundance of talent, add a well-established base of enthusiastic fans around the country, and you have the combination that's got everybody buzzing. Together, they're Point Of Grace - Heather Floyd, Shelley Phillips, Terry Lang and Denise Jones - and they're causing a commotion in Christian music.
The remarkable story of Point Of Grace begins at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, where three church group pals from Norman, Oklahoma, Heather, Terry and Denise, met up with Shelley from Little Rock and started singing around the piano. From the start, none of the girls had any aspirations of getting into the music business. "Three of us were in a vocal group called the 'Ouachitones,'" remembers Denise, "and Shelley sang with us in the music room one night. We found all these harmony parts and then somebody said, 'Hey, we could do this!'
Point of Grace
Life Love and other Mysteries
Verse 1
We were made to love and be loved
But the price this world demands
Would cost us far too much
I spent so many lonely years just trying to fit in
Now I've found my place in this circle of friends
CHORUS
In a circle of friends
We have one Father
In a circle of friends
We share this prayer
That every orphaned soul will know
And all will enter in
To the shelter of this circle of friends
Verse 2
If you weep, I will weep with you
If you sing for joy the rest of us
Will lift our voices too
But no matter what you feel inside there's no need to pretend
That's the way it is in this circle of friends
CHORUS
In a circle of friends
We have one Father
In a circle of friends
We share this prayer
That we'll gather together no matter how the highway bends
I will not lose this circle of friends
Verse 3
Among the nations tribes and tongues we have sisters & brothers
And when we meet in Heaven
We will recognize each other
With joy so deep, and love so sweet
We'll celebrate these friends, and the life that never ends
CHORUS
In a circle of friends
We have one Father
In a circle of friends
We share this prayer
That it will not be long before
And all will enter in
To the shelter of this circle of friends
