I am so happy to start this issue of Global Express with the following reply
Charla received for the card she sent to Norma and her family.

Keep this thought in mind as you read it please.

Celebrities are people who make the news;
Heroes are people who make a difference."

The Wilcox Family would like thank you and the WWWCOF Group for the beautiful card you sent when Wayne's Step-Mom passed away. You have no idea how special we felt receiving this card. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. With His Blessing Wayne, Norma, Michael & Amy Wilcox

This is indeed a testament to the importance of "Random Acts of Kindness". You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life ... so, live for today and say all the things that you want your loved ones and your friends to remember ... and think about this.

Celebrities are here today and gone tomorrow;
Heroes are remembered because of their humanity to man.

Aging Gracefully

--- I feel like my body has gotten totally out of shape, so I got my doctor's permission to join a fitness club and start exercising. I decided to take an aerobics class for seniors. I bent, twisted, gyrated, jumped up and down, and perspired for an hour. But, by the time I got my leotards on, the class was over.
--- Reporters interviewing a 104-year-old woman: "And what do you think is the best thing about being 104?" the reporter asked. She simply replied, "No peer pressure."
--- The nice thing about being senile is you can hide your own Easter eggs.
--- Just before the funeral services, the undertaker came up to the very elderly widow and asked, "How old was your husband?" "98," she replied. "Two years older than me." "So you're 96," the undertaker commented. She responded, "Hardly worth going home, is it?
--- I've sure gotten old.! I've had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement, new knees. Fought prostate cancer and diabetes. I'm half blind, can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine, take 40 different medications that make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts. Have bouts with dementia. Have poor circulation; hardly feel my hands and feet anymore. Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92. Have lost all my friends. But, thank God, I still have my driver's license.
--- An elderly woman decided to prepare her will and told her preacher she had two final requests. First, she wanted to be cremated, and second, she wanted her ashes scattered over Wal-Mart. "Wal-Mart?" the preacher exclaimed. "Why Wal-Mart?" "Then I'll be sure my daughters visit me twice a week."
--- My memory's not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my memory's not as sharp as it used to be.
--- It's scary when you start making the same noises as your coffeemaker.
--- The good news is that even as we get older, guys still look at our boobs. The bad news is they have to squat down first.
--- These days about half the stuff in my shopping cart says, "For fast relief."
--- I've tried to find a suitable exercise video for women my age, but they haven't made one called "Buns of Putty."
--- Don't think of it as getting hot flashes. Think of it as your inner child playing with matches.
--- Don't let aging get you down. It's too hard to get back up.!
--- Remember: You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing.
--- THE SENILITY PRAYER : Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference.

Today's birthday

Ruby worries in case your name is not on the list to receive her, since she wants to go EVERYWHERE and visit EVERYONE in the Circle. She has asked me to add anyone who lets us know on here or by visiting her new online journal. You can read up on all her travels here or have fun playing her games. Meanwhile we'll continue adding anyone's name to the list who wants a visit from Ruby, and we look forward to hearing her adventures in Brazil.

Remember the email that Arlene from the USA sent about the Glass Walkway Over Grand Canyon ? This glass-bottomed, horseshoe-shaped walkway that juts 70-feet out into the canyon is part of the Hualapai Tribe's $40 million effort to turn 1,000 acres of reservation land into a tourist destination. Here are some of the responses I received:

  • Fran from Tennessee, USA - I don't think I will take advantage of this "contraption".
  • Maxine from Ontario, Canada - no thanks
  • Pami from New York, USA - I know I won't walk it ... I went out on the glass floor at The CN Tower in Toronto ... that was freaky enough for me.
  • Vicki from Vancouver Island, Canada - I don't think I could go out there. COULD YOU ? Looks like several of the members share my fear of heights. Love to hear how the rest of you feel.

    Also I sent around an email asking you to describe me in one word and here are some of the responses to that.

    awesome, happy-go-lucky, giving, leader, giving, encouraging, beautiful, caring, devoted, friendly, thoughtful, exuberant, superwoman, great, wonderful, resourceful, talented, loving, forever, family, sweet, good natured, patient

    Thanks everyone!

    As you can see from the responses that I received that this is obviously a great self esteem builder so do be sure to email your friends and ask them to describe you in one word.
