Easter Issue
Online Newsletter
Hello everyone! Staring off this issue with a very special news flash from Salt Lake City.

Diana has had her baby. His name is Ryan. His birth weight was nine pounds four ounces, but now at a month she thinks he is about fifteen pounds (boy they do grow fast). And he was 21 1/2 inches long. All of which meant he was grown out of some of the newborn items before he was even born. Diana says that being a new mom she is still learning the multi-tasking skill and learning to survive with a lot less sleep. She is wondering how so many before her did it, but says he is very good natured which helps with everything a lot.

Congratulations Diana!

Well hello everyone!!
I had a rough and tumble trip from Maryland to Indianna! I got here on about 7th,My packaging was all torn and I felt topsyturvy, but I think all my stuff was okay, and I certainly am. I am so lucky I have collected up so many treasures from all the friends I have met and made
It was really nice to see Karen and Floyd again, and it is lovely to be in the company of all these dolls and angels in such pretty dresses.
By the way, you don't have to have been to the last Reunion necessarily for me to visit you. My job, and I love it, is to travel for you, to meet up with all the Circle members. so come on, don't be afraid. The Modern Testament: Genesis of the End.
- In the beginning of the end, man created machinery and industries. And the planet was clean and fertil. But Human Ambition was in action of the Earth.
- And Man said "Let there be an industrial revolution. Let the factories multiply and raise the smoke from their chimenies to blacken the skies with carbon ashes and petrol gases.
- and the skies blackened and man called them "progress". And Man thought that progress was good. And there was light and there was darkness. And that was day one.
- And Man said " since progress is good, let's take over everything that has been given us, all the animales of the earth and the birds of the sky, and all the fish in the sea and all the waters. Day two.
- And all the plants and all the trees that reproduce over the Earth. And man was proud of his work since no one was more intelligent than he. Day three.
- Then Man thought "It is not good that petrol is alone; let there be nuclear energy" And nuclear energy was made leaving its deposits all over the Earth and in the waters. Day four.
- And we have it that everything that man had been given began to be extinguished, the animals of the land, the birds of the air the fishes in the seas and rivers, every plant and every tree that produced seeds on the face of the earth. Day five.
- And man saw all the things he had done, and they were in a great way unreparable. And so ended the skies and the earth and everything that had lived on it, and Man was up to his eyebrows in his own trash. Day six
- And the work of man being complete, and he proud of it, he rested happily under the useless Earth.

Inspiration
Jayne from Kansas, USA shares this beautiful email with us.
Each year he sent her roses,
and the note would always say,
I love you even more this year,
than last year on this day.
My love for you will always grow,
with every passing year."
She knew this was the last time
that the roses would appear.
She thought, he ordered roses
in advance before this day.
Her loving husband did not know,
that he would pass away.
He always liked to do things early,
way before the time.
Then, if he got too busy,
everything would work out fine.
She trimmed the stems and
placed them in a very special vase.
Then, sat the vase beside
the portrait of his smiling face.
She would sit for hours,
In her husband's favorite chair.
While staring at his picture,
and the roses sitting there.
A year went by, and it was
to live without her mate.
With loneliness and solitude,
that had become her fate.
Then, the very hour,
The doorbell rang, and there
were roses sitting by her door.
She brought the roses in,
and then just looked at them in shock.
Then, went to get the telephone,
to call the florist shop.
The owner answered, and she asked him,
if he would explain, Why would someone would
do this to her, causing her such pain?
"I know your husband passed away,
more than a year ago,"
The owner said,
"I knew you'd call, and you would want to know.
The flowers you received today,
were paid for in advance.
Your husband always planned ahead,
he left nothing to chance.
There is a standing order,
that I have on file down here,
And he has paid, well in advance,
you'll get them every year.
There also is another thing,
that I think you should know,
He wrote a special little card...he did this years ago.
Then, should ever I find out that he's no longer here,
that's the card that should be sent to you
the following year."
She thanked him and hung up the phone, her tears now flowing hard.
Her fingers shaking,
as she slowly reached to get the card.
Inside the card, she saw that he had written her a note.
Then, as she stared in total silence,
this is what he wrote...
"Hello my love, I know it's been a year
since I've been gone.
I hope it hasn't been too hard for you to overcome.
I know it must be lonely,
and the pain is very real.
Or if it was the other way,
I know how I would feel.
The love we shared made everything
so beautiful in life.
I loved you more than words can say,
you were the perfect wife.
You were my friend and lover,
you fulfilled my every need.
I know it's only been a year,
but please try not to grieve.
I want you to be happy,
even when you shed your tears.
That is why the roses will be sent to you for years.
When you get these roses,
think of all the happiness that we had together,
and how both of us were blessed.
I have always loved you and
I know I always will.
But, my love, you must go on,
you have some living still.
Please...try to find happiness,
while living out your days.
I know it is not easy,
but I hope you find some ways.
The roses will come every year,
and they will only stop,
When your door's not answered,
when the florist stops to knock.
He will come five times that day,
in case you have gone out.
But after his last visit,
he will know without a doubt!
To take the roses to the place,
where I've instructed him
and place the roses where we are,
together once again.
Sometimes in life, you find a special friend;
Someone who changes your life
just by being part of it.
Someone who makes you laugh
until you can't stop;
Someone who makes you believe
that there really is good in the world.
Someone who convinces you
that there really is an unlocked door
just waiting for you to open it.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK

Dear Dogs and Cats,
When I say to move, it means to go someplace else, not to switch positions with each other so there are still two of you in the way.
The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.
The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.
I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.
For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years--canine or feline attendance is not mandatory.
The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough!
To pacify you, my dear pets, I have posted the following message on our front door:
Rules for Non-Pet Owners Who Visit and Like to Complain About Our Pets:
- 1. They live here. You don't.
- 2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. (That's why they call it "fur"niture.)
- 3. I like my pets a lot better than most people.
- 4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted
son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.

Grains
Choose smart carbs such as whole grains to reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke and diabetes. Whole grains provide a cornucopia of vitamins and minerals and are also rich sources of fibre. Insoluble fibre, found mainly in wheat, promotes bowel regularity, while soluble fibre, found in grains such as barley and oats, is super for lowering blood cholesterol and regulating blood sugar. Scientists speculate that they also contain phytochemicals, or plant chemicals, that may boost calorie-burning capacities.
- Don't judge whole grain products by their colour because many dark breads have caramel or molasses for colour and contain mostly refined grains.
- Read ingredient lists to find whole grain products and look for the word WHOLE in front of grains such as wheat and rye.
- Don't be fooled by nutritious-sounding names, such as "12 grain" or "multigrain," that list enriched wheat flour, arefined grain as the first ingredient.
- the outer layer, or bran;
- the inner part, or germ and
- the endosperm
Although Canada's new Food Guide to Healthy Eating won't be released until 2006, the new dietary recommendations in the U.S. suggest at least three servings of whole grans a day.

NAIROBI, JANUARY 6:A baby hippopotamus that survived the tsunami waves on the Kenyan coast has formed a strong bond with a giant male century-old tortoise, in an animal facility in the Port city of Mombasa, officials said today.
The hippopotamus, nicknamed Owen and weighing about 300 kilograms, was swept down Sabaki River into the Indian Ocean and then forced back to shore when tsunami struck the Kenyan coast on December 26, before rangers rescued him.
”It is incredible. A-less-than-a-year-old hippo has adopted a male tortoise, about a century old, and the tortoise seems to be very happy with being a 'mother',”' ecologist Paula Kahumbu, who is in-charge of Lafarge Park, told AFP.
''After it was swept away and lost its mother, the hippo was traumatized. It had to look for a surrogate mother. It landed with the tortoise and established a strong bond. They swim, eat and sleep together ... The hippo follows the tortoise exactly the way it follows its mother. If somebody approaches the tortoise, then it becomes aggressive,'' she said. - PTI

- Good afternoon,
Have heard from Carol, Loretta and Daphne and about to reply to them all. This afternoon is going to be a bit busy as am going to make cards at sister's house but am going to set aside some time when I get home to look further at this site. Checked some of the messages yesterday. I can see quite a lot of work has gone into it and it looks just wonderful. Am excited to get to know others and hopefully be involved in the coming weeks, months. And want to settle in and read some members profiles.
The survey all the sudden "took" I guess. Not sure how that worked out as it kept giving me a message that I it was not taking it. Guess it did somehow between now and then. Thanks for letting me know as I thought it still wasn't posted.
Hope this email finds you having a good day. The sun is shining and all is beautiful here in Texas. (Sharon
- I've been making hand made cards for children in Hospitals across the USA and Canada. These are seriously ill children. I'm making cheerful cards such as Happy Birthday, Thinking of You, Fun Days, Smiley faces, Holiday, Children playing and so forth. Anything that will make a child smile. No get well cards. These children know they are sick so we to stay away from that subject. I was reading an article in one of my craft magazines asking for donations of hand made cards. So I contacted the Keiki Card people on the computer and they answered. Well, I sat down and got busy. I mailed out a package to them in Hawaii. A few days later I received a Thank You letter for the beautiful cards I did send. Now I'm working on another batch to send.
Your not required to send any set amount or put on a deadline, except if they are cards for certain holidays. If anyone is interested in doing this, get on your computer and check out Keiki cards.com. You too can add a smile to some child's face. I enjoy figuring out what to design next. Carol in New York.
My daughter and husband were here for a visit last week. It was really nice to see them come & Go (LOL). I am going to start Spring House Cleaning next week. I fully intend to "De-stress" my house, by getting rid of A LOT of knick-knacks, I am tired of dusting them. I too have been on a diet/exercise program since last August - so far have lost 50 pounds and 4 dress sizes. I still have about 40 pounds to lose. I get together with a group of ladies in our development and exercise 3 times a week, then I have and AB Lounger that I use 3 times a week. I'm going to look for some of that TSP you talked about. We don't have a Home Depot, but we have a Lowe's, hopefully they will have it in stock. That is all I have at the present. It is always nice hearing from you. - The east coast is finally starting to show some signs of spring. It's been a lovely week ( no snow) in the southwest part of the province. That's why we call it God's Country I guess, other parts of this little province are still getting flurries and wind storms. Hopefully that is past for us now.
Have been keeping busy, between making quilts, knitting for grand kids and getting ready for my dad's 80th birthday party , I don't seem to be online all that much. Hope all is well with you and all the members.
